Dennis Perkins, 45, is facing 150 felony charges that allege rape, child pornography, sexual battery of a child, and video voyeurism. His wife, Cynthia Perkins, and former lover, Melanie Curtin, have already pleaded guilty to various crimes they committed with Perkins. Perkins is a former Sheriff’s lieutenant and head of the Livingston Parish SWAT team in Louisiana. He and Curtin were accused of drugging and raping a woman. He and his wife are accused of child rape, child pornography, and even tainting cupcakes with his semen and giving it to her students. Yes, she was a teacher.
Much of the media focus has been on the bizarre crime of tainting cupcakes she gave to her students with her husband’s sperm, but they did far worse, including child rape and child pornography.
What is most appalling, a Baton Rouge police officer reported Dennis Perkins for inappropriately touching a child but Perkins denied the allegation, and no further investigation was taken. He also admitted to sex with a 13-year-old on his job application.
