Sandy Smith won the Republican primary for North Carolina’s First Congressional District only to lose in the general. Two ex-husbands and her daughter have accused her of domestic violence. Her daughter filed for a protective order claiming that Smith “held me down by my hair and punched me in the face with a closed fist.” The protection order has been dismissed and she and her daughters are, according to Smith, on good terms.
The allegations from her ex-husbands are from divorce records. They are not, as she claimed, from George Soros. However, both her ex-husbands were interviewed and confirmed that she was violent and abusive. They provided some extraordinary examples. She retorted by claiming she was the abuse survivor.
Smith was even included as an example in a book called Abuse OF men BY women: It happens, it hurts, and it’s time to get real about it.
