Lynn Lindaman

Lynn Lindaman was a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. In 1976, he was convicted of lascivious acts with a person under 16. She was fourteen and he was given a deferred sentence which means that after going through his probation, he was not considered guilty any more. This allowed him to get his medical license and even specialize in pediatric surgery. The victim of that crime has sued him in civil court for the pain and anxiety that were caused by his actions. She has also advocated since 2020 for revocation of his medical license. I added an article about that at the end of this entry.

In 2023, he was accused of again sexually assaulting a child, this one under the age of ten. The child was eight. He was found guilty by a jury in February, 2024. The jury was not told about his prior conviction, though there will be a second trial to see if he would get enhanced penalties for a repeat offense.

UPDATE: He has been sentenced to fifty years and because this is a second offense, he is required to serve 42.5 years before he is eligible for parole. As he is 73, he is unlikely to ever molest another child.

Beks has found some of his social media posts that are really ironic considering he’s a child molester.

Michael Tobin

Michael Tobin was a police officer in Clarksville, Iowa. He was accused of showing sexually explicit images and videos from a criminal case to a minor from September 2021 to February 2022. The minor reported it to police in March 2022. The city fired him and in September 2022 he was arrested and charged with 3 felonies and 8 misdemeanors. In October 2023, he was convicted on all charges.

In addition to his criminal charges, he was also sued by two sisters who allege he h̶a̶d̶ ̶s̶e̶x̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ raped them during their participation in a ride-along program and on school lunch breaks. The sisters each did not know he was raping the other for a long time.

A former Iowa police officer already facing multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a minor is now being
sued by two sisters who claim he had sex with them while they were teenagers and he was on duty.
Michael Tobin, 35, who was fired from the Clarksville Police Department in March 2022, is currently facing
three felony charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and eight misdemeanor charges of sexual exploitation
through the use of images of minors engaged in sexual acts. Some of the charges are tied to allegations that
Tobin showed a minor multiple images, obtained as part of previous criminal investigations, depicting various
other minors engaged in sexual activity.
Tobin has pleaded not guilty to all charges and trial is scheduled for Oct. 10.
This week, Chloe Trowbridge, 18, and her sister, Alandria Trowbridge, 20, each filed lawsuits in Butler County
District Court against Tobin, the city of Clarksville and Police Chief Barry Mackey. They are joined by their
mother, Carrie Trowbridge, as co-plaintiff.
Chloe Trowbridge's lawsuit alleges she and Tobin had sex on "countless" occasions when she was 16 years
old and participating in a police ride-along program. The encounters took place in Tobin's patrol car, at the
police station and in his personal vehicle, with Tobin sometimes using his handcuffs and Taser on her. On
some occasions, the lawsuit claims, the two engaged in sex during Chloe's high school lunch break.
The lawsuit alleges Chloe "never consented to sexual acts" with Tobin, claiming Tobin repeatedly asked her
for sexual favors, "which made her uncomfortable and she said no, until the requests from Tobin did not
stop and she eventually gave in, gave up and ignored her hesitation to comply."
Her lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for harassment, assault, child abuse, enticing a minor into sex, child
endangerment, sexual grooming, kidnapping, stalking, illegal surveillance and negligence in the hiring,
retaining and supervising of city employees.
Tobin, Mackey and the city have yet to file a response to either lawsuit.
Lawsuits detail alleged use of city offices and equipment
In her lawsuit, Chloe Trowbridge alleges she and Tobin met in June 2020, when she was 15, and Tobin
interviewed her as part of an investigation into a supplier of alcohol to minors.
In September 2021, the lawsuit alleges, Tobin met with Chloe and her sister Alandria in Cedar Falls and
bought them lunch. The sisters drove back home on Highway 218, with Chloe at the wheel and Tobin driving
nearby in his own vehicle. Tobin and the sisters were "messing around and passing each other and flipping
each other off," the lawsuit states, when Chloe lost control of her vehicle, crossed three lanes of traffic and
crashed on the side of the highway.
The sisters were not injured, but when a Janesville police officer arrived on the scene, Tobin allegedly
identified himself as a police officer and indicated another vehicle had cut off Chloe's car and forced her off
the road, convincing the officer not to cite Chloe for losing control of her car.
At around that same time, the lawsuit alleges, she and Tobin began exchanging nude photos and videos
through text messages and Face Time calls, and in November 2021, the two had sex for the first time while at
the police station.
On Dec. 31, 2021, the lawsuit alleges, Chloe and others attended a New Year's Eve party at the Clarksville
Police Department. Several weeks later, in February 2022, Chloe was allegedly giving Tobin a foot massage in
his office at the police department when the mayor of Clarksville walked in, saw Tobin seated at his desk, in
uniform, with Chloe – then 16 years old – in a chair next to him. The mayor "did absolutely nothing" and
conducted no investigation into the matter, the lawsuit claims.
Lawsuit: School officials discovered evidence of relationship
According to the lawsuit, on March 3, 2022, Chloe was called out of class because the Waverly Shell Rock
School District information technology department had discovered a Google document that Tobin had used
to communicate with her during a recent trip to Florida. The document was on the school district's server,
and Tobin had allegedly used it to send Chloe nude photographs and sexual messages.
According to the lawsuit, Chloe called Tobin and informed him the high school principal was aware of their
relationship and Tobin "flipped out." The Butler County sheriff was contacted, and deputies questioned the
two sisters, which is when Chloe Trowbridge allegedly learned Tobin was "doing the same things" to her
sister.
Days later, the lawsuit alleges, Chloe Trowbridge ran out of gas while driving home from work and Mackey,
the Clarksville police chief, pulled up behind her in a patrol vehicle and said he had to do something in the
backseat of Trowbridge's car. Mackey allegedly entered the car, pulled out the backseat, removed something,
and then drove away without any further discussion. The lawsuit alleges "Mackey presumably removed from
the car an illegal global positioning device" that Tobin had placed there.
The separate lawsuit filed by Alandria Trowbridge against Tobin and the city seeks unspecified damages for
harassment, assault, abuse, coercion, imprisonment, stalking and surveillance.
Alandria is almost two years older than Chloe, and in her lawsuit she claims to have first met Tobin in the
winter of 2020 when she was 17.
According to Alandria's lawsuit, in August 2021, days after Alandria turned 18, Tobin allegedly manipulated
her and used her interest in a career in law enforcement to persuade her to participate in a ride-along with
him in a patrol car. He allegedly drove her to secluded area and, without asking for consent, initiated sex with
her.
The ride-alongs allegedly became a weekly occurrence, with sexual activity taking place each time. After each
incident, Alandria alleges, she messaged Tobin and told him they needed to stop, but Tobin allegedly
persuaded her into spending more time with him and engaging in sex, including one occurrence that took
place at the police department.
From August 2021 through March 2022, Tobin allegedly assaulted Alandria Trowbridge at least 48 times. "No
matter how many times she said she did not want to engage in sex with Tobin, he did not stop until the City
of Clarksville fired him," the lawsuit alleges.

1162: Derek Cornette

Derek Cornette

Derek Cornette was the alderman representing Davenport, Iowa’s Seventh District. Employees complained that he had a habit of sexually harassing female employees. When asked to stop, he said he would start calling men sweetie, honey, or darling.

There is video evidence of him attending city meetings while drunk.

The City called a special meeting and he was removed by a 7-3 vote. He has since sued the City.

Davenport council removes alderman on allegations - Quad-City Times, The (IA) - September 8, 2023 - page 1
September 8, 2023 | Quad-City Times, The (IA) | Sarah Watson
The Davenport City Council voted 7-3 to remove 7th Ward Ald. Derek Cornette Thursday night.
The vote came after a two-hour hearing in which the city's legal department presented evidence Cornette
came to council meetings appearing intoxicated and persistently addressed female employees
inappropriately despite requests to stop the behavior.
Cornette's attorney, Mike Meloy, argued that Cornette was not given enough time to thoroughly build a legal
defense, and that Cornette's due process rights were violated. He argued that the voters, not the council,
should be given authority to fire Cornette from representing the ward, and that the charges did not rise to
the level of removal from office.
Cornette, who was elected in 2021, has filed to run for reelection. A primary will be Oct. 10, the regular
election Nov. 7. After the meeting, Cornette said he plans to run again, but declined to speak to allegations
other than the intoxication charge, on which he says he was within legal limits.
Assistant City Attorney Brian Heyer asked for statements from or asked questions of City Administrator Corri
Spiegel, HR Director Alison Fleming, Police Chief Jeff Bladel and City Attorney Tom Warner, as well as played a
video and voicemail recordings.
Evidence presented included a voicemail Cornette left for Spiegel, which ended with "love ya, babe." Then,
after Warner said he told Cornette not to call employees "babe" or other pet names, Cornette left another
voicemail for Spiegel where he said "still love ya, babe."
"This isn't a strip club. This isn't Tinder. This is the City of Davenport, a quarter of a billion-dollar municipal
enterprise," Spiegel said in an impact statement she read aloud.
Quad-City Times, The (IA)
September 8, 2023
"I have successfully led this organization through thick and thin for the past eight years. I am blessed to work
with an extraordinary professional employee team who's dedication and commitment to this community
leaves me in awe," Spiegel said. "But to an elected official apparently all I deserve is to be harassed,
demeaned, and belittled. And this is not something I should have to do in public in front of my bosses, in front
of my staff, in front of the community."
Then Fleming, answering questions from Heyer, said she'd received at least 10 to 15 complaints from female
city employees about how Cornette interacted with them. She said that she and Warner had multiple
meetings with Cornette to tell him that he couldn't use pet names such as "sweetie" or "dear" to address
employees.
Warner also told the council he had witnessed Cornette grab a female employee's hand and refer to her as
"his little mama" and told her she was beautiful.
Cornette also left a voicemail for At-Large Ald. Kyle Gripp on the city council voice mailbox, where he calls him
a p***y. Heyer said two female administrative employees monitor and listen to the voicemail inbox to
distribute voicemails and argued they were the intended audience for the message.
Asked what would've happened if Cornette was a city employee, Fleming said the city would've terminated his
employment.
Heyer argued that the city has a legal obligation to protect employees from known harassment.
But Meloy argued that no written complaint was made to the city's Human Resources department.
Heyer pointed to previous reporting by the Quad-City Times where Cornette admitted employees had told
him they were bothered by the way he addressed them.
"Alderman Cornette claimed to the media that he had talked to those two female staffers who were affected
by his language and his conduct and that he had apologized and made amends. Is that true? There are two
empty workstations upstairs. I believe to say that's not true," Heyer said. "Instead, the harassment continued.
How many more empty workstations should we expect to suffer? How many more empty workstations are
we willing to allow?"
Heyer also outlined at least two meetings where Cornette appeared to be intoxicated. During a Feb. 28
management update meeting, Warner expressed concern to Bladel that Cornette's speech was slurred and
his eyes were glassy, red, and bloodshot. After the meeting, which lasted about an hour, Warner, Bladel, and
Fleming met with him in the HR conference room.
Warner asked Cornette if he'd been drinking, he said, and Cornette said he had been earlier in the day, but he
was fine. Cornette was offered assistance for alcohol usage and told that if he was drinking alcohol or
intoxicated he shouldn't attend city meetings. Cornette declined a breathalyzer test, but was given a ride
home. In a follow-up meeting March 10, Warner and Fleming urged Cornette not to show under the influence
of alcohol, according to Heyer.
On May 3, after officers noticed Cornette's eyes were glassy and bloodshot at a city council meeting, a Scott
County sheriff lieutenant and Warner approached Cornette. In a video played for the council, Cornette
admitted he'd consumed alcohol prior to attending the meeting and agreed to submit to a breath test. The
test showed Cornette had a blood alcohol concentration of .072, which is .008 under the legal limit to drive.
Heyer argued, however, that his blood alcohol content would have been above the legal limit before the
meeting, which he had driven to.
Meloy, in his closing statement argued: "the legal department has orchestrated this unlawful hearing which
fails to comply with fundamental due process."
Before the vote, Matson said he called the meeting "because we have went through many iterations of trying
to address this and it hasn't been done, and we owe it to the employees. So, the question is do you condone
this activity, behavior, or do you not?"
The seven aldermen who voted to remove Cornette expressed disgust with how Cornette had conducted
himself, especially after he'd been asked to improve his behavior.

The three votes against removing Cornette were himself, Ald. Tim Kelly, Ward 5, who expressed concerns
about fairness, and Ald. Judith Lee, Ward 8, who questioned whether the council was acting outside its legal
authority and expressed concern that she could be the next alderman removed. Both were critical, however,
of Cornette's actions.

CRESTON, IOWA -- A Creston man is facing dozens of felony charges for allegedly sexually abusing a youth for years. Ryan Kissell, 42, was arrested Wednesday in Creston after an investigation began in July. Kissell was recently hired by Nodaway Valley Schools as a teacher and football coach; he previously was a coach for Creston Community School District.

Neither Nodaway Valley Community Schools nor the Union County Sheriff's Office was able to comment on the arrest on Tuesday evening. WHO 13 was alerted to his arrest by a viewer and confirmed the details through online court records. The Creston News Advertiser first broke the news of Kissell's arrest online.

Kissell is facing 46 felony charges, including:

* Lascivious Acts with a Child: 24 counts

* Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree: 21 counts

* Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child: 1 count

Court records show that the investigation into Kissell began in July after an underage victim came forward to authorities. The victim claims Kissell's abuse had been carrying on for more than a decade.

Kissell was arrested on Wednesday. He is being held without bond in Union County. A date for an initial court appearance has not been set.

Nodaway Valley Schools notified parents on Wednesday of the arrest of a staff member without releasing that person's name. The district says the subject has been placed on administrative leave.

The Nodaway Valley Community School District is aware that one of staff members was arrested on August 16 arising out of past conduct unrelated to the staff member's work in the District or District Operations. The staff member has been placed on administrative leave until further notice. If your student is affected by any personnel changes, you will be contacted individually. Questions about the arrested should be directed to the Adair County Sheriff's Department.

1114: Michael James Shover

Michael James Shover is the pastor at Pella’s Christ the Redeemer Church. He was at the Iowa State Capitol. He got in a shouting match with LGBTIQA protesters and said they were all devoid of morals. He then asked “Why is pedophilia wrong?” The video went viral and he claims criticism is out of context and that it was a rhetorical question. Maybe so, but why does he entertain the question at all?

The problem for Mr. Shover is that there are hundreds upon hundreds of pastoral pedophiles. More than 700 just in Texas Baptist churches. If he wants to criticize a group for lack of morality and values, get a mirror.

1103: Daryl Johnson

Daryl Johnson is one of the January 6th insurrectionists and was sentenced to thirty days in jail for his actions that day. He has since been arrested for secretly recording women at a tanning salon. He was charged with invasion of privacy and interference with official acts.

Allegedly, he put his cell phone on a divider that separated tanning rooms at a tanning business owned by his father, the former mayor of St. Ansgar. The camera was situated so it recorded a woman undressing and using the tanning bed. She didn’t consent. He also resisted allowing the police to seize his phone.

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA -- An Iowa man who was previously convicted - along with his son - for his role in the
January 6th riot in the US Capitol is now accused of using a cell phone to illegally record a woman as she was
changing clothes at a tanning salon.
Daryl Johnson, 52, of St. Ansgar was arrested on January 27th and charged with Invasion of Privacy, according
to court records. An arrest report shows that Johnson was accused of using a chair to position a cell phone on
the 8-foot-tall dividing wall between two rooms at 'iSum 24/7' tanning salon in Clear Lake. The phone was
used to record the woman as she changed her clothes during a tanning session.
Police say Johnson refused to show officers the video content on his phone and resisted attempts to seize it
as evidence. Johnson has already posted bond and been released. He is due in court again on February 15th.
Daryl Johnson and his son, Daniel Johnson, were the first Iowans convicted for their roles in the January 6th
riot in the US Capitol. The elder Johnson was sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to one felony
count of Civil Disorder. The Johnsons entered the Capitol through a broken window and spent approximately
30 minutes in the building during the 2021 riot.

964: Gordon Grabau

Gordon Grabau was a Special Deputy Sheriff in Linn County, Iowa. In July, 2022, he was arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material. The FBI served a search warrant on him in July 2021. A special deputy is a volunteer deputy. For example, a sheriff’s search and rescue “posse” might have many special deputies. They get paid a nominal sum to qualify for worker’s comp, but are mainly volunteers. They are still in a position of public trust.

They found over 160,000 files of child sexual abuse material, including BDSM child sexual abuse material and CSAM involving minors under twelve, even infants and toddlers. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison in April, 2023.
